Here are some of the features of JMaps:
- Map SobiPro search results and SobiPro entries by category.
- JMaps is a Joomla module, so it can appear on any Joomla page in any Joomla module position or in content using one of the module load position plugins.
- JMaps can optionally "float" down the page to keep the map in view at all times.
- Create and use custom map markers using your own images!Custom markers are assigned by SobiPro category or even by individual entry. Category assignments can be the same, or can even vary in different instance of JMaps. Visit the Search Demo page to see custom markers in action.

Add Custom Colors or Custom Markers by SoibiPro Categories, or even make them unique by individual entry! An entry in your directory can have its own logo as a map marker! Use Numbers to Match Up to Search Results or Display Without Numbers on Default Markers.

- You can also pick the default colors for markers on the map or use a default custom image for entries whose category does not have a unique color or custom marker.
- Set the map to bundle a large number of markers to keep the map clean and allow site visitors to "drill into" the bundle to see the markers a higher zoom level.

JMaps Uses Google 3.0 API and Can Automatically Bundle Closely-space Markers to Provide a Clean, Organized Appearance
- Put any SobiPro field in the information window! See below for an example layout, but yours can be easily configured to include any information you choose!

- Set the option to allow the user to zoom in and out on the map using a wheel mouse.
- Choose to open the "View Profile" link to the Entry Details page in a shadowbox, or in a new page. The shadowbox option keeps the user on the page with the map, and promotes viewing more entries! You can display the entire template in the popup, or the detail template only. On this site, we are demonstrating the option to show only the SOBI2 details template.
- Specify the "zoom" level of the map, or set the map to "auto zoom" to include all entries returned on your search.
- Additional Options for the map bubbles include (shown above):
- Google Streetview (optional) - Google Street View Appears in the Map Window to Provide an Awesome View
- Directions to Entry (optional) - Pick what kind of route to show the user, multiple options!
- Directions from Entry (optional) - Pick what kind of route to show the user, multiple options!
- Featured Entry Processing - Specify a unique color and optional Star Marker for "Featured Entries" or use a custom marker.

Custom Featured Marker using a "Star" image. Use any image you want as a map marker for "featured entries." You may even sell this an option for your listings!
|
- Set category ordering to make sure entries from a valuable or featured category are always on top of less valuable or non-featured categories on map displays.
- Set marker limits so that above and below specified zoom levels the markers stop showing. This prevents markers from being too "crowded" in the display when zoomed out or too "obvious" if zoomed to far in.
- Completely customizable width and height for the map. Have different instances of JMaps on different pages in different module positions.
- Custom Div setting to let you create custom CSS classes for module stying.
- Choose any Google Map Type as the default and let your users optionally change to their own preferred map.
- Regular Map
- Satellite
- Hybrid
- Optionally show zoom and pan controls and even the Peg Man to let users drop a street view anywhere on the map.
- Copy JMaps as many times as you like to create unique maps to show on different pages of your site!
- Show or hide a Google Search Bar to let your users supplement the JMap's display with additional search results. Optional Google Search Bar shown below
NOTE: Also available for Joomla 1.5 which includes mapping for SOBI2 Search Results and Categories. For more information on JMaps for Joomla 1.5, please go here.
Map Site Members based on a Community Builder Users List!
That's right - you can show all of your site's members on a map, only members that meet certain criteria, all users in a state or region, etc. You can also put the map together with a User List of your choice on a single page, and let visitors to your site do interactive searching.
As they get search results, those results show up on the map!
This is purely up to you, as you can put a selected map(s) of your members on any Joomla page and not co-ordinate it with the search function.
This is an invaluable tool when using Community Builder for business networking, Chambers of Commerce, sports leagues, and other related uses.
Add an admin-controlled featured field to your CB profiles, and select members to feature! Featured members can show up on the map with a different color map marker and an optional star icon as shown above. Colors for the featured marker and star are set in the module parameters. You may map by the standard address fields in Community Builder, or you can add longitude and latitude fields to map by geocodes.
When purchased as a stand-alone package, mapping for Community Builder is compatible with Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5. All versions are included in the download package.

JMaps on CB User List Search Page - Map Can be Integrated with Search or Shown Separately
The output of the CB Mapping Plugin can also be used for export to other Joomla components, or even as a source of information for custom programming.
Most of the same options exist for mapping Community Builder members as exist for SobiPro mapping. This includes a link to the Profile in the Info Bubble which appears on the map. You can turn the number marker off or on depending on whether you show a JMaps module on the page with the CB User list, or show it on a separate page.

Map a custom XML file that you provide!
Create a custom XML file to use for mapping purposes. Realtors can use JMaps to show available properties put together from a remote database. Non-profits can show areas affected by disasters, or areas where they are operating. If you can think of something that needs to be shown on a map, then JMaps can help you out by letting you put your mapping results in a custom file and shown on any Joomla page. An example of this kind of mapping is shown at the top of this page. The map entries on the top map were custom entered and then displayed above. This is the fastest and easiest way to add multiple-location maps to Joomla!
Add an RSS or KLM feed file to your results!
If there is specific data that you would like to show along with your mapping results (from any of the options above), provide a URL to that feed and JMaps will create the map markers for you. Sell ads to businesses in your coverage area and have them appear along with mapped results from your directory or your site members. Whatever you can find a valid RSS or KLM feed for can be mapped! You can add the results to results from your own Database or custom XML file, or you can display a map based only on the RSS/KLM file feed.
